As the morning monday light makes it’s way through the cracks and rust holes of my trash lid, more thoughts float about like dust motes dancing about in the piercing rays . It’s a new week, and there are so many things to do… it’s nearly impossible to keep up. Like a dump truck backing up to your door, and unleashing a whole new pile of trash to sort through. Not that I’m complaining. I love trash!
Besides all the task trash, there is the sheer amount of tin cans with strings going everywhere thats enough to drive a Grouch to Grinch Mode.
When I was a young grouch, we had one rotary phone, it took 5 minutes to dial 911, and usually, someone was already talking on the phone when you picked it up. Those were the simpler times.
Now we have beeps, boops, zaps, dings, and even phantom buzzes letting us communicate faster and with an even bigger party line. How can one focus on anything, when your frantically searching for where a bloop came from. Its nice to have the option of using various channels of communication, but so many wires are crossing over, one is likely to short-circuit their brain.
I often wonder how much I’m missing out on what surrounds my trash can in close proximity. When a bird on a wire shares some story about a quirky yogurt shop in New York, there may be a quirky bookstore in your neighbourhood you pass by everyday, with an old owner with stories that would blow your mind.
But.. I have access to the largest library in history, right in my pocket!
Yes that's true, but I bet your stuck in the ‘Opinions’ section. I know I end up stuck there too. A bellman keeps pinging me back, and I’m swimming in drool sometimes. Also, some things just ain’t my business to know..
Anyways… work begins and I need to keep track of things. There are some great simple organizers out there. I use this and it’s helping for the day to day trash fires. Maybe you know of something better. Or maybe you have a calendar for a brain.
Have a great grumpy monday.
